Dr. Behnam Tehrani received his doctorate of medicine from George Washington University Medical Center. He stayed on at GW where he completed his residency and fellowships in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology. He currently serves as medical director of the cardiac catheterization laboratories at INOVA Heart and Vascular Institute in Falls Church, Virginia, and he specializes in the percutaneous management of complex coronary and peripheral vascular disease as well as cardiogenic shock. Dr. Tehrani has been a key player in the launch of the multidisciplinary cardiogenic shock program at IHVI which has resulted in significant improvement in clinical outcomes. He was lead author in the publication of these results in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology. He is also the site co-primary investigator for the National Cardiogenic Shock Initiative. Dr. Tehrani holds faculty positions as assistant clinical professor of medicine at GWU and Virginina Commonwealth University.
