Dr. Baklanov completed medical school and postgraduate training in Leningrad, former USSR. He practiced cardiology before immigration to the United States in 1997. He completed Research Fellowship at Duke Medical Center, Durham North Carolina and repeated clinical training in internal medicine at Yale - Saint Raphael Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut. He completed clinical cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowships at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire. He is board-certified in Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology and Vascular Medicine. He is a Consultant and Clinical Research Scholar at Saint-Luke's Mid America Heart Institute. He is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Missouri - Kansas City.
