Gary Roubin, MD, PhD
Gary Roubin MD, PhD is an internationally renowned interventional cardiologist recognized for his groundbreaking work in developing the first FDA-approved coronary stent and pioneering techniques for complex coronary and peripheral intervention, carotid stenting, embolic protection devices, large bore closure, and TAVR interventions. He is the named inventor on ten issued US and EU patents and 45 additional patent applications worldwide. Current devices in use include the NAV6 embolic protection system, the XACT carotid stent, and the Manta device. He has published more than 280 papers in peer-reviewed journals. He has edited three textbooks on interventional cardiovascular medicine and coronary and carotid artery stenting and contributed to 20 textbooks on interventional cardiology and vascular medicine. He has played a pivotal role in numerous clinical trials, from EAST and BARI to CREST1 and CREST2. For over four decades, he has dedicated himself to innovation and science in cardiovascular patient care.
