Thomas K. Jones, MD, MSCAI
Dr. Jones is the Senior Congenital Interventional Cardiologist at the Seattle Children's Hospital and the University of Washington Medical Center. He was Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories at Seattle Children's Hospital from 1991 until July 2021. Dr. Jones is a Professor Emeritus of Pediatrics and Adjunct Professor Emeritus of Medicine (Cardiology) at the University of Washington School of Medicine. He is board certified in Pediatrics, Pediatric Cardiology, and Adult Congenital Heart Disease. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Cardiology and is a Master of the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions.
Dr. Jones' lifelong focus has been to develop new and innovative approaches to the less invasive treatment of various congenital cardiac conditions. With his background in engineering, he has worked closely with early-phase cardiovascular device developers and the US FDA and participated in numerous clinical trials designed to address the specific needs of children and adults with congenital cardiac disease. In addition, whenever possible, he has leveraged his collaboration with his adult cardiology structural heart colleagues to develop innovative approaches to benefit both patient populations.
