Challenging Scenarios in the Cath Lab

Overview

This webinar will cover a series of challenging cath lab scenarios. The faculty will review the evidence base that guides our decision-making and demonstrate through cases the nuances of applying data to real-life patients, interpreting advanced invasive diagnostic testing, and optimizing interventional procedures.

Learning Objectives

After completing this webinar, participants should be able to:

  • Define ischemia and non-obstructive coronary artery disease (INOCA) and the optimal setting for microvascular testing
  • Review the role of intravascular imaging and adjunctive non-invasive imaging in non-atherothrombotic coronary events
  • Recognize prognostic indicators of a good survival potential for patients who present with out-of-hospital arrest
  • Define the role of the cath lab, including ECPR, neuroprotective hypothermia, and PCI in patients with out-of-hospital arrest
  • Compare the pros and cons of completing revascularization in one procedure vs prior to discharge

Agenda and Invited Faculty

Moderator: Sohah Iqbal, MD, FSCAI
Q&A Moderator: Roxana Mehran, MD, MSCAI

  • INOCA: Should Microvascular Testing Be Routine?, Nathaniel Rosso Smilowitz, MD, FSCAI
  • Nonatherosclerotic ACS, Jennifer A. Tremmel, MD, FSCAI
  • Out-of-Hospital Arrest: To Cath or Not to Cath, Timothy D. Henry, MD, MSCAI
