SCAI is making improvements to its membership database and processes. We want you to be aware of how these upgrades will impact you.
Q: Why is SCAI making these upgrades?
A: SCAI is introducing a new membership database to improve efficiency and customer service. Logging in to your member profile, renewing your dues, registering for events, or accessing your benefits will be easier than before. Switching to an annual renewal cycle helps members to remember when their membership is due and improves efficiency.
Q: I like my membership on an anniversary date! Do I have to change?
A: Yes. SCAI is switching to an annual dues cycle for all members. The new dues cycle will run from July 1–June 30.
Q: I joined SCAI late in 2019. When does my membership end?
If you join between mid-November 2019 and January 1, 2020, your membership will be prorated to June 30, 2020. The prorated amount will be reflected in your cart when you go to checkout.
Q: What if I join mid-month?
A: If you join between the 1st and the 15th, your official start date is the 1st of that month. If you join between the 16th and the end of the month, your official start date is the 1st day of the following month.
Q: What if I renew after my expiration date?
A: Membership terminates after 30 days of non-payment. When you log in to renew your membership, the system will automatically calculate the dues amount you owe that will get you to a renewal date of July 1.
Q: Will the switch impact my journal subscription?
A: No, the switch will not impact your journal subscription. Your SCAI membership and journal subscription will remain on the same cycle. As long as you renew before your expiration date, you will continue to receive your subscription as you always have. If you renew after your expiration date, your journal subscription is reinstated, and you will receive the next copy.
Q: What about my member discounts?
A: Member discounts apply to meeting registrations, continuing education programs, certifications, and more. If your membership of SCAI indicates active status at the time of purchase, you will receive the member discount.
Q: Does the new system have automatic membership renewal?
A: Yes. In the new system, you will be able to opt-in to automatic renewal. If you choose, you will automatically be charged for the next membership cycle to guarantee uninterrupted access to benefits, services, and subscriptions. You will receive an email reminder at least 30 days before your renewal date that will indicate when the transaction will take place You can also update your automatic renewal preferences at any time by visiting the payment section in your profile.
