Michael N. Young, MD, FSCAI | SCAI

Michael N. Young, MD, FSCAI, RPVI is an interventional cardiologist at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. He serves as the Director of the Structural Heart Disease Program as well as the Advanced Fellowship Director of Structural Heart Interventions. In these roles, Dr. Young oversees the TAVR, Transcatheter Mitral-Tricuspid Valve, and Stroke Prevention Programs at DHMC. He has also helped develop and expand the Multidisciplinary Cardiogenic Shock and Pulmonary Embolism Response Teams within the Dartmouth Health System. In complement to his clinical interests, Dr. Young maintains a keen interest in healthcare delivery science, policy, and outcomes-based research. In 2020, he was awarded a SYNERGY research fellowship award from The Dartmouth Institute (TDI) for Health Policy and Clinical Practice. Since then, he has actively led investigator-initiated studies in conjunction with the Northern New England Cardiovascular Disease Study Group, Vascular Quality Initiative, and TDI.  He also serves as a site principal investigator for a number of pivotal clinical trials offered at DHMC.  Dr. Young has been a recipient of multiple teaching awards from Dartmouth’s Geisel School of Medicine, Internal Medicine Residency, and Cardiovascular Medicine Fellowship.  Nationally, he serves on leadership councils for both the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Intervention and the American College of Cardiology.
