Dr. Smith holds four board certifications from the American Board of Internal Medicine including Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology and Critical Care Medicine.  He also holds Endovascular board certification by the American Board of Vascular Medicine.  He is the Director of the Cardio-Vascular Intensive Care Unit for the Heart, Lung and Vascular Institute at The Christ Hospital.    His clinical interests include acute coronary syndromes, shock, advanced heart failure therapies, mechanical circulatory support, cardiovascular critical care, pulmonary embolism and acute limb ischemia.
