Ashwin Nathan, MD, MS | SCAI

Ashwin Nathan, MD, MS, is an assistant professor of medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and staff interventional cardiologist at the Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center. His clinical interests include complex coronary artery disease and structural heart interventions. His research interests include studying the intersectionality of novel therapeutic devices, quality measurement, and access to care. He has a broad background in database management, statistical methodologies, causal inference, and studying inequities in care within cardiovascular medicine. His research combines his clinical interests in structural heart disease, the role and utility of measuring quality, and ensuring equitable care delivery.

In 2024, Dr. Nathan was the recipient of the SCAI-Edwards Lifesciences Early Career Research Grant for his project, Variation in the Distribution of Social Determinants of Health for Patients Undergoing Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement at 1-, 2- or 3-Star Programs.
