Carotid Artery Stenting for Symptomatic High-Risk Carotid Artery Stenosis

Carotid artery stenting (CAS) for symptomatic carotid artery stenosis remains a viable alternative to carotid artery endarterectomy in high risk individuals. More and more recent data suggests that CAS can be performed safely amongst such patients. In this case presentation we present a challenging case of symptomatic carotid artery stenosis with high plaque burden. We also discuss various interventional approaches and devices commonly used to treat such a high plaque burden lesion in the internal carotid artery via transcutaneous approach.
