Overview  

The interventional leadership track at SCAI 2026 in Montreal is designed to empower interventional cardiologists with the tools and insights needed to thrive both professionally and personally. This program goes beyond the cath lab to address the real-world challenges and opportunities that shape your career.

Suitable for everyone on the cath lab team, the target audience for this track includes all physicians, from leaders to fellows, as well as educators and administrators.

Considerations for Hospital Based vs. ASC Based Cath Labs

This session explores key considerations when deciding between Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs) and hospital-based cath labs for PCI procedures. Experts will review trends in site-of-service, clinical outcomes, and regulatory variability, along with financial and operational impacts. Practical insights on facility design and program development will be shared, including lessons from early adopters. The session concludes with guidance on when hospital settings may be more appropriate for complex or high-risk cases.

Stents and Stocks: Private Equity's Involvement in Interventional Cardiology

This session explores the growing role of private equity (PE) in interventional cardiology and its impact on clinical practice. Presenters will examine why PE is entering the space, how acquisitions affect quality of care, and the legal and compliance challenges that follow.
