After attending SCAI 2026 Scientific Sessions, the learner will be able to:
- Understand economic and access challenges facing catheterization laboratories and strategies to address these challenges.
- Consider strategies for assessing and improving quality in the catheterization laboratory.
- Learn about career pathways in interventional cardiology outside of the catheterization laboratory.
This session explores key considerations when deciding between Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs) and hospital-based cath labs for PCI procedures. Experts will review trends in site-of-service, clinical outcomes, and regulatory variability, along with financial and operational impacts. The session concludes with guidance on when hospital settings may be more appropriate for complex or high-risk cases.
