Exciting Progress Is Underway in Congress for the Improving Seniors' Timely Access to Care Act (H.R. 8702/S. 4532) | SCAI

Recently the bill has:

  • Achieved a majority in both the House (222) and Senate (55).
  • Received a preliminary estimate CBO score of zero.
  • House bill champions—Reps. Kelly, DelBene, Bucshon, Bera—published a statement announcing the achievement of a bipartisan majority of co-sponsors when the bill surpassed the 218 milestone (10-9-24).
  • Surpassed a bipartisan majority of co-sponsors in the Senate in early September.
  • letter was sent to the House and Senate leadership and committees of jurisdiction signed by 16 physician associations and allies asking for prioritization of CBO scoring and in passing the bill by the end of this Congress.
  • In October, the Senate Homeland Security Committee released a scathing report on Medicare Advantage plans denying prior authorization for post-acute rehabilitation care for seniors.

But we need your help to keep the momentum going! Our goal is to send 500 grassroots letters to House and Senate offices by November 30. Will you join us in the fight to protect seniors?
