Dr. Gregory Serrao is an assistant professor of medicine and director of mechanical circulatory support for the cardiac catheterization laboratory at the Icahn School of Medicine, Mount Sinai. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering at The Cooper Union for Advancement in Science and Art and a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering at Columbia University FU School of Engineering. He then completed medical school at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, where he graduated with a Distinction in Research for his work in cardiac tissue engineering. Dr. Serrao completed his internal medicine residency at Columbia University's NY Presbyterian Hospital. He then completed a general cardiology fellowship at Mount Sinai, where he served as chief fellow in his final year, and continued on to an interventional cardiology fellowship at Mount Sinai, where he also served as chief fellow. Dr. Serrao's research and clinical interests include cardiogenic shock, mechanical circulatory support, and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO).
