Negar Salehi, MD, FSCAI | SCAI

Life has been very kind to Dr. Salehi. She was fortunate to be able to complete her medical school education at Shaheed Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran (Second best Medical School in Iran), then went on to become a cardiologist and later an interventional cardiologist at Iran University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran. After that, she became an interventional cardiology board-certified assistant professor at Rajaei Cardiovascular, Medical and Research Center, Tehran, Iran -one of the renowned and prestigious cardiac centers in the Middle East. She ended her career in Iran as a tenured interventional cardiologist to start again in the US for a better life. She is now a board-certified internist in the United States. She is in her second year of general cardiology fellowship training at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Little Rock, Arkansas. The next step in her training would be to pursue a career in interventional cardiology at Mount Sinai, New York.

Meanwhile, Dr. Salehi has also published numerous academic papers, presented at conferences, and co-authored book chapters and educational DCs in cardiology and interventional cardiology. In addition, she has served on different academic cardiology committees and has actively participated in improving patient care throughout my clinical, research, and teaching career so far. Throughout her career thus far, be it working at Rajaee, MSU, Cleveland Clinic, and the University of Arkansas, she has tried to be academically productive and has successfully published 44 paper-14, which were published after she moved here to the United States. These publications have been well-received and cited more than 320 times. She also has six book chapters, six international presentations, and 17 national conference presentations. From the beginning, her career goal was to be a research-oriented academic interventional cardiologist, and she still maintains that goal. She has also been a reviewer and the editorial board of different peer-reviewed journals.
