Dr. Pant’s life and experiences in medicine and cardiology training have instilled in him an abiding belief that the practice of medicine represents the noble pursuit of human beings to restore health and wellness. The unique combination of challenging subject material, complex technical aspects, procedural dexterity, evolving evidence-based medicine, and the immensely satisfying favorable outcomes prompted him to choose cardiology as his career. Upon graduation from the prestigious University of Louisville's cardiology program, he relocated to a highly underserved area in southern Massachusetts, inhabited mostly by the Portuguese American population. It was not an easy task to undertake such a complex mission of serving an ethnic community with a high prevalence of cardiovascular disorder, limited access to quality healthcare and socioeconomic barriers. He has conducted various disease awareness campaigns on air and live programs in community centers. He collaborated with a local hospital to build a cardiovascular program, including a STEMI program, and a PERT program, and helped advance the Structural Heart Disease program. He frequently hosts medical students to rotate through his practice and has always enjoyed helping them become better physicians. After long hours of work in the hospital, he enjoys coming home to his beautiful family and playing with his two little ones, who patiently wait for their daddy to ring the bell! He was truly honored and humbled to be the recipient of the “SCAI 30 in their 30 award”. He is committed to promoting the core mission of SCAI and encouraging all the budding cardiologists to join hands and come together as a family to learn, grow, and spread goodness around the world.
