SCAI applauds Congress for unanimously passing the Cardiovascular Advances in Research and Opportunities Legacy (CAROL) Act (H.R. 1193) on December 5, 2022. The CAROL Act passed the US Senate by unanimous consent last week and will now head to the President’s desk to be signed into law. SCAI endorsed the CAROL Act at the beginning of 2022 and has tirelessly advocated for Congress to pass the bill that authorizes critical funding for valvular heart disease research and will spread awareness on a critical area of cardiovascular health, making needed impacts on research and education to improve care for our patients. SCAI is thrilled to see the passage of the CAROL Act and thanks Congressman Barr for leading the effort.
