SCAI Joins Coalition to Reduce Budget Neutrality-Based Medicare Cut | SCAI

SCAI has joined a coalition of almost 50 physician and healthcare professional groups urging Congress not to allow the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid to implement Healthcare Common Procedure Coding Systems (HCPCS) add-on code G2011. The “G code cut” set forth by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in the calendar year (CY) 2024 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS) proposed rule will account for two-thirds of the overall Medicare reductions anticipated in 2024. Absent congressional intervention, this code, and the resulting Medicare payment cuts will negatively affect medical practices and threaten patients’ access to care nationwide. Letters to the House and Senate Leadership are available here.
