SCAI, along with numerous other national medical organizations, has formally called upon Congressional Leaders to address the precipitous reduction in Medicare payments due to the cost of implementing the clinical labor calculation of practice expense relative value units (RVUs). CMS began implementing these reductions on January 1st and will continue until CY 2025. The letter urges Congress to act to ensure that Medicare beneficiaries are not harmed by these significant cuts.

In parallel, SCAI is asking its members to contact their Members of Congress to call their attention to the impact that these cuts will have on efforts to address health inequity, accelerate health system consolidation, and deal with the consequences of the COVID-19 public health emergency that disproportionately impact Medicare beneficiaries.
