In a letter to Congress, SCAI, along with other medical specialty societies, wrote in support of a recent legislative proposal aimed at reforming the budget-neutrality rules that have eroded Medicare physician payment levels for years. The letter makes clear that the overall effect of budget neutrality has been to cut Medicare payments permanently and unjustifiably to physician payments across the board.
