SCAI would like to recognize Beatrice “Bea” Reyes for 20 years of service to our organization and congratulate her on her retirement. Bea has been an integral part of the organization serving in numerous roles during the last two decades, most recently as a senior advisor to the Society. Most notably, Bea served as the Vice President of Meetings, where she skillfully worked in partnership with SCAI leadership to develop many of our premier annual Scientific Sessions.
Bea consistently exuded respect and garnered the trust of fellow SCAI team members, showcasing extraordinary teamwork and dedication to SCAI over the years. This led to her being recognized as the SCAI Employee of the Year in 2013, a most-deserving honor.
“I’ve worn many hats during my time with SCAI and have had the great pleasure to work with more than 75 staff and contractors during that time. I am humbled to have been able to work with such gifted, talented, and hardworking professionals,” Bea reflected. “Our members work tirelessly to save and enhance lives each day and it was humbling to see that baton turned to us and be able to work with a team who innately worked just as hard.”
When asked about the highlight of her career, Bea quickly recalled her time leading SCAI’s meetings department, a team she led beginning in March of 2012. “It’s always come naturally to me to encourage others, so I took so much pride in how the SCAI staff would come together to execute these incredible educational events for our members. That’s what I’ll remember; locking arms and working hard.”
“I feel extremely blessed to have come from such humble beginnings to eventually serving on the executive team at SCAI,” Bea concludes. “The Lord has graced me to be in rooms that I could have never imagined, and I am so grateful.”
We are grateful for Bea’s valuable contributions and bright smile and wish her all the best on her new journey. Thank you for everything!
