SCAI Seeks Revision to Existing NCCI Edit Resulting in Claim Rejections for SVC Studies | SCAI

In support of SCAI’s Congenital Heart Disease community, SCAI has submitted a formal request to the new National Correct Coding Initiative (NCCI) subcontractor for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services that has oversight of NCCI claims processing edits, seeking revision to the existing Medically Unlikely Edit (MUE) for code 75827 used to report SVC-gram studies. Currently, the MUE edit limits providers to one SVC-gram per patient, per day even for cases with patients that have dual SVCs. SCAI has asked the NCCI subcontractor to increase the allowed MUE edit units for code 75827 from one (1) to two (2).
