SCAI Signs Onto Coalition Effort to Stop Proposed Medicare Cuts in 2022 | SCAI

SCAI, in coalition with 16 other cardiovascular organizations, in a letter to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to abandon proposed cuts to Medicare which, if enacted, would amount to more than a 20 percent reduction in reimbursement under the Physician Fee Schedule due to the “budget neutrality” policy.

To amplify this critical message, the same coalition worked successfully with Rep. Bobby Rush (D-IL) and Rep. Gus Bilirakis (R-FL), to obtain the signatures of 73 other Members of Congress to cosign a similar letter to CMS decrying the cuts. The petition-like letter warns CMS of the dire consequences that will result if their proposed cuts remain in the Final Physician Fee Schedule rule expected to be issued in November or December.
