SCAI is one of many societies that signed on to a letter with the American Medical Association to key Congressional committee members regarding policies around surprise billing.  Congress is interested in crafting legislation around health care cost transparency and unanticipated bills patients may receive from hospitals and physicians. 

In the letter, we provide a list of policies that we urge Congress to consider to address this important issue. Recommendations include; insurer accountability, limits on patient responsibility, and setting benchmark payments. To view the letter and all policy recommendations.
