In July, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) issued a Request for Information in regard to future episode-based payment models. The request asked for input to help inform their strategy regarding a potential new model with a goal to improve beneficiary care and lower Medicare expenditures by reducing fragmentation and increasing care coordination across healthcare settings. SCAI’s comments focused mainly on specialist participation in value-based payment models and are linked below.
