SCAI, along with 14 other members of the Regulatory Relief Coalition, in written comments to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) strongly urged CMS to focus on the impact of Prior Authorization requirements related to patient access and work to improve the process to remove unnecessary barriers to health care services to MA enrollees. Comments were in response to the Medicare Program; Contract Year 2023 Policy and Technical Changes to the Medicare Advantage and Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit Programs Proposed Rule (“Proposed Rule”).
