The Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI) recently submitted comments to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and its contractor Acumen in response to their MIPS Episode Based Cost Measure Comprehensive Reevaluation. SCAI specifically commented on the cost measures for Elective Outpatient Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) and ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) with Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI).  

SCAI will continue to monitor the MIPS program’s quality and cost measures and its impact on interventional cardiology.
