SCAI has submitted comments on the Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS) proposed rule which was released on July 15. SCAI comments specifically focused on a change in regards to FFR/iFR and IVUS payment when performed in the ASC setting, direct supervision of cardiac rehabilitation, and payment for IDE devices and studies. SCAI thanked CMS for including coronary flow reserve measurement (FFR and iFR) and intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) in the code combinations for payment for additional complexity. The final rule should be released in November.
