SCAI Submits Joint Comments on USPSTF Enhanced Risk Assessment for Cardiovascular Disease Research Plan to Avoid Third Denial of PAD Screening Tools | SCAI

SCAI joined ABC and five other cardiovascular organizations in comments on the new U.S. Preventative Services Task Force Enhanced Risk Assessment for Cardiovascular Disease draft research plan. The comments strongly support the use of Coronary Artery Calcium Scoring and Ankle Brachial Index as screening tools for those at risk for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. Previous USPSTF actions have cast public policy doubts on the importance of screening for PAD.
