SCAI’s nomination of Peter Duffy, MD, MMM to serve on the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) Ambulatory Payment Classification (APC) Panel that reviews challenges to APC assignments for services and procedures was accepted by CMS. The Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) Ambulatory Payment Classification (APC) Panel is responsible for reviewing challenges to APC assignments for services and procedures. APC assignments are used in setting facility reimbursement rates for services and procedures performed in hospital outpatient departments and ambulatory surgical centers. Dr. Duffy’s first APC Panel meeting as a formal Panel member was held earlier this week on August 19^th and 20^th, 2019.
