SCAI, along with nearly 40 other medical specialty societies, thanked Senators Jacky Rosen (D-NV) John Boozman (R-AR) for introducing the “Resident Education Deferred Interest (REDI) Act” (S 3658).

The bill would allow students to qualify for interest-free deferment on their student loans while serving in a medical or dental internship or residency program. Passage of the REDI Act would be an important part of student loan repayment reform.
