CMS is considering whether to delay implementation of a final rule which would mandate Medicare coverage of most FDA-approved breakthrough devices. SCAI opposed the delay but suggested changes in the regulation. Among those changes was that CMS, where appropriate, should be able to mandate participation in professionally driven clinical registries. Our comments are here.
