Dr. Hirai is one of the few formally trained interventional cardiologists in CTO and high-risk coronary interventions. Dr. Hirai is passionate about helping this patient population and leads the CTO program at the University of Missouri. His research focus is on how to perform CTO intervention safely and efficiently for the patients. He is the national PI for the STAR with deferred stenting study.
