Tanush Gupta, MD, is an interventional cardiologist at the University of Vermont Medical Center and an assistant professor of medicine at the Larner College of Medicine. His specific expertise is in structural heart interventions for valvular heart disease.
Dr. Gupta completed his medical school training in New Delhi, India, then moved to the US for postgraduate medical training. He completed his internal medicine residency training at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY, and his cardiology fellowship training at Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY. He then completed advanced fellowships in interventional cardiology and structural heart interventions at Columbia University and Houston Methodist Hospital, respectively.
He serves as site principal investigator or co-investigator on multiple clinical trials at his institution. Nationally, he serves on the ACC Cardiac Surgery Team Leadership Council, and locally, he is on the Northern New England Cardiovascular Disease Group (NNECDSG) steering committee. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed manuscripts in leading journals, including JACC, JAMA Cardiology, JACC: Cardiovascular Interventions, and Circulation: Cardiovascular Interventions. He is regularly invited as faculty at major national conferences. In 2023, he was nominated to the CRT Young Leadership Recognition Program, which recognizes clinical and academic excellence in early career interventional cardiologists. In addition, he has been selected for the 2024 cohort of ACC’s clinical trial research program.
