Umair S. Ahmad, MD, is an assistant professor of interventional cardiology and advanced heart failure at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. His clinical and research interests span the spectrum of investigating genetic polymorphisms in heart failure patients to developing novel interventional techniques to improve the safety and efficacy of percutaneous coronary interventions. He was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society at Ohio State University.
In 2024, Dr. Ahamd was the recipient of the SCAI-Shockwave Medical Early Career Research Grant for his project, Racial Disparities in Use of Atherectomy and Intra-Vascular Lithotripsy for Percutaneous Coronary Intervention.
