Vikrant (Vik) Jagadeesan is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the West Virginia University Heart and Vascular Institute at the West Virginia University School of Medicine. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. He completed medical school at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, his internal medicine residency at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and general/interventional/structural training at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
His clinical focus is on complex percutaneous coronary intervention and structural heart interventions. He has an active teaching role at the fellowship level, including directing the simulation program for the cardiology fellows at the beginning of their training. At the institutional level, as an early career faculty member, he has had the opportunity to be the principal investigator on multiple clinical trials as well as a sub-investigator on others. In addition, he is a planning member of the local pulmonary embolism response team and shock initiatives. Internationally, he is involved in the Tricuspid Valve Academic Research Consortium (TVARC) and co-author for guidelines to help standardize and define outcomes for transcatheter tricuspid valve therapies.
