Dr Ashok Seth is presently the Chairman of Fortis Escorts Heart Institute and also the Chairman of Cardiology Council, Fortis Group of Hospitals. He has been practicing Cardiology for the past 30-years.
He has pioneered numerous angioplasty techniques for Asia and was the first to perform Stents, DES Stents, Angioscopy, Possis Angiojet Thrombectomy, Impella, TAVR and BRS Stents.
He has been awarded by the National Honour of Padma Shri in 2003 and Padma Bhushan in 2015 and ‘B.C.Roy National Award’ for the most ‘Eminent Medical Person’ by the President of India in 2017. He has also been awarded the National Honour of Republic of Spain 'Crus Officer with Insignia Order of Isabella the Catholic' in 2010, the prestigious ‘Life Time Achievement Award’ by Chien Foundation/AsiaPCR(Singapore) in 2017, the ‘Current Luminary Award and Master of Interventional Academy of America’ at The Complex Cardiovascular Catheter Therapeutics meeting (USA) in 2017, the ‘Golden Pioneer of Interventional Cardiology’ by the AICT Society in 2011, the 'Special Award for outstanding contributions in Cardiology' by the American Association of Cardiologists of Indian Origin in 2011 and ‘Mason Sones Award’ by SCAI(USA) in 2010 in addition to numerous other Awards.
He has been honored with the prestigious Award of Master Interventionalist of SCAI (MSCAI) in 2017 in recognition of excellence in the field.
Dr Seth has been honored by Doctorate of Science/D.Litt. from 5-prestigious national universities in India.
He is the Founder Advisory Board Member of several prestigious interventional scientific bodies, Director of the Largest Course in Interventional Cardiology in Asia(INDIA LIVE) and Associate Director of TCT Scientific Sessions(USA).
He has been invited to teach complex angioplasty techniques at more than 400 scientific conferences across the world.
He is on the Editorial Board of numerous international scientific journals and has more than 250 publications and Editor of three books.
