Dr. Hany Ragy is a consultant cardiologist and head of the Cardiology unit at the National Heart Institute (NHI) the largest public Cardiology hospital in Egypt.
He graduated in 1980 from Ain Shams University in Cairo, trained in Cardiology at the NHI, and had overseas training in the USA, Holland, and Germany in echocardiography and interventional cardiology.
Dr. Ragy is a large volume operator interventional cardiologist in both Coronary and structural heart diseases, his main area of interest is spreading Primary PCI for all STEMI patients, he is an active member of the ESC stent for life initiative in Egypt.
He is also an instructor of balloon mitral valvotomy in several African countries.
Dr. Ragy authored and co-authored several articles in peer-reviewed journals and has been in the faculty of EuroPCR and TCT numerous times.
He is a member of the EAVA (Egyptian association of atherosclerosis) and runs the Cairo hypertension clinic, is the National coordinator in Egypt for the Garfield AF registry.
Finally, he is a leader in NGO anti-smoking activities.
