J. Dawn Abbott, MD, FSCAI, is a Professor of Medicine, Associate Chief of Faculty Development and Academic Advancement in the Division of Cardiology, Director, Interventional Cardiology at the Lifespan Cardiovascular Institute, and Director of Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories, Rhode Island and The Miriam Hospitals. She served as Director of the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship Training Program at Brown from July 2009-June 2022. She is a high-volume interventional cardiologist with expertise in complex coronary interventions. Her research interests focus on improving outcomes of patients undergoing coronary, endovascular, and structural interventions and those with acute coronary syndromes. She has received research grant support from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the American College of Cardiology (ACC), and industry. She has over 200 peer-reviewed publications. She serves as Deputy Editor for Circulation: Cardiovascular Interventions and is on the editorial board of several cardiovascular journals. In addition, she is active in the leadership of national cardiovascular societies, including ACC and SCAI.
