I earned my medical degree at Addis Ababa University in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. I completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota, a fellowship in cardiology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota and a fellowship in structural and peripheral interventions at the University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora, Colorado. I have also completed a masters of biomedical sciences in clinical and translational research from Mayo Graduate School in Rochester, Minnesota. My primary clinical areas of focus are catheter based structural heart treatments including mitral valve repair, TAVR, ASD/PFO closure and left atrial appendage closure.
