Nishtha Sodhi, MD, FSCAI | SCAI

Board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology, and the National Board of Echocardiography, Dr. Nishtha Sodhi has particular expertise in transcatheter therapies for structural and valvular heart disease. 

Dr. Sodhi completed her internal medicine residency training at the Cleveland Clinic, where she was awarded the American Heart Association Clinical Cardiology Minority Grant. She then pursued her cardiology, interventional cardiology, and structural heart disease fellowships at Barnes Jewish Hospital of Washington University St. Louis. There, she was awarded the American Heart Association’s Women in Cardiology Trainee Award for Excellence and received the American College of Cardiology (ACC) Quality Summit Scholarship. 

Dr. Sodhi holds several national leadership positions, including Chair of The American College of Cardiology Accreditation Foundation (2025-2027) and Chair-Elect (2024-2025). She also serves on the ACC’s Research Fellowship Awards Committee and has previously served on the Education Standards and Outcomes Committee, the Awards Committee, and the Accreditation Compliance Workgroup, as well as the National Cardiovascular Data Registry (NCDR) ACTION Registry Committee for Quality Improvement in STEMI and NSTEMI. She was also part of the founding committee that created the Women in Cardiology Section of the ACC Missouri Chapter. She also served as early career faculty on the Tricuspid Valve Academic Research Consortium Steering Committee of the Heart Valve Collaboratory. She is a well-published active clinical investigator in transcatheter therapies and has participated in multiple live cases and sessions at national conferences. 

Dr. Sodhi previously served on the faculty at The University of Virginia where she was the medical director for the structural heart and valve program and was also the valve director of the Heart and Vascular Service Line Leadership Council. Dr. Sodhi was most recently recruited as the director of the structural heart and valve program at Allina Minneapolis Heart Institute United Hospital in St. Paul. She is also an active member of the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation.
