Dr. Jauhar completed his medical school in 1991 from the University of Chicago, Pritzker after which he completed his cardiology and interventional cardiology training at New York Hospital-Cornell. He came to the North Shore LIJ Health System in 2001 and developed an interventional cardiology practice at LIJ that boasts one of the highest volumes for a physician in the field in New York. He then served as chief of cardiology at Forest Hills Hospital and is currently Director of the Cardiac Catheterization labs and the Chief of the Adult Cardiology Department at North Shore University Hospital. His contributions have played an integral role in the success of the angioplasty program at NSLIJ. Dr. Jauhar's research and clinical work with the South Asian and Guyanese population have led to a greater understanding of the increased risk of significant coronary artery disease seen in those patients. Dr. Jauhar has a passion for teaching and is actively involved at the new Hofstra-NSLIJ School of Medicine in teaching medical students. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Society of Coronary Angiography.
