Quoting Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins: "Few leaders affect public health in their lives as much as Dr. Snyder did the year he served as President of the Dallas County Medical Society...Based largely on the advocacy of a physician leader I'd never met before the afternoon of my decision, I declared a State of Emergency and ordered aerial spraying in Dallas County for the first time since 1966."

This year, Dr. Snyder continues to serve DCMS as a member of the North Texas Mass Casualty Critical Task Force, and as a member of the Dallas County Health and Human Services Public Health Advisory Committee. He furthermore is legislative chairman for the Texas Chapter American College of Cardiology and is vice chairman for the National Physician Council for Health Care Policy in DC  “The classic vision of a doctor as an advocate for our patients has to be much more than just words. We physicians will have almost as much impact on the care our patients receive in legislative chambers and regulators’ offices as exam rooms and operating rooms,” he says. “As clinicians, we treat one patient at a time, but as physician advocates, we can help everyone.”
