Congenital Heart Disease Interventional Cardiology Course
December 12–15, 2024
Join Me in Miami
The Congenital Heart Disease Interventional Cardiology Course offers practical guidance and mentorship from a range of accomplished clinicians—to help you during your training and early years as an interventionist.
This year’s congenital track will focus on hands-on learning, case presentations, and interactive sessions with faculty to not only learn practical clinical tips but also to network! Getting to know faculty around the country allows for exposure to different techniques and approaches to congenital interventional cardiology.

Program Overview
The Congenital Heart Disease Interventional Fellows Course offers a comprehensive four-day program designed to enhance fellows' skills and knowledge in congenital heart interventions. Participants will engage in case-based learning, panel discussions, and hands-on workshops covering a wide spectrum of topics crucial to interventional cardiology in congenital heart disease (CHD). The agenda includes sessions on advanced techniques such as ASD, VSD, and PDA closure, urgent interventions, single ventricle management, pulmonary valve and artery interventions, and adult congenital heart disease. Fellows will benefit from networking opportunities with leading experts and peers, gaining insights into complex procedures and emergent scenarios. This course is essential for fellows looking to deepen their expertise and readiness in the field of CHD interventional cardiology.
Through access to experienced SCAI leaders, collaboration with industry supporters, and interaction with your peers, the SCAI Fellows Congenital Heart Disease Interventional Cardiology Course will enable you to:
- Master techniques for ASD, VSD, and PDA closure, considering procedural challenges and device selection.
- Identify and manage urgent and emergent complications during CHD interventions.
- Discuss strategies and approaches for single ventricle management, including post-stage 1 interventions.
- Evaluate options and techniques for pulmonary valve interventions, from valvuloplasty to transcatheter valve implantation.
- Demonstrate skills in rehabilitating and managing complex pulmonary artery lesions.
- Apply interventional strategies for adult congenital heart disease, including stent implantation and coronary interventions.
- Participate in hands-on workshops to enhance procedural skills with guidance from industry experts.
- Engage in networking activities to build professional relationships and exchange knowledge with faculty and peers.
