Dr. Alexander G. Truesdell is an Interventional Cardiologist with Virginia Heart and the Inova Heart and Vascular Institute in Northern Virginia, where he serves as co-director of the multidisciplinary Cardiogenic Shock Service. He completed internship and residency training at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC and fellowship training at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. In between, he spent a decade in Army Infantry, Intelligence, and Special Operations units in the United States, Europe, the Balkans, Iraq, and Afghanistan. His clinical and research interests/activities include complex coronary interventions, coronary chronic total occlusions, cardiogenic shock, cardiac critical care, and mechanical circulatory support.
