I want to share some great news with the membership. Thanks to the efforts of many of you, the Dr. Joseph Babb Distinguished Professorship in Cardiovascular Sciences at ECU Medical & Health Sciences Foundation is close to a reality.

Last year, an initiative was started to establish the Dr. Joseph Babb endowed professorship to honor our former President and indefatigable supporter of the Society. This endowment will support research and education, provide for professional development opportunities, and support the fellows development and education under the direction of the Joseph Babb professor.

We are only $20,000 short in donor contributions needed to reach our goal to establish the professorship. Donors needed to raise $333,000 in order to receive a $167,000 matching grant from the state of North Carolina.

I ask that you consider joining me in making a gift to support the Dr. Joseph D. Babb Endowment. All gifts are tax deductible and the family will be notified of all those contributing.
