Congenital
Overview
This track is dedicated to pediatric and ACHD interventional cardiology and will employ case-based sessions to enhance expertise through collaborative and interactive learning. Attendees will acquire new take-home skills for navigating complex cases, maximizing procedural success, and minimizing complications.
Target Audience
This track has been designed to appeal to both early-career physicians and trainees as well as experienced practitioners.
Learning Objectives
After attending SCAI Scientific Sessions, the learner will be able to:
- Describe how and why physicians make medical decisions and how decision making can be revised to improve patient care
- Identify how extended reality and other innovations can be used in the decision making for congenital heart interventions, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic
- Discuss the best practices and emerging data for transcatheter valvular interventions
- Describe emerging technologies for congenital heart disease and how they can be introduced into practice
Topics Covered
The congenital heart disease track in 2022 focuses on medical decision making. Topics covered include decision making in complex ACHD cases, in valvular transcatheter replacements and repairs, in introducing new and innovative procedures into practice focuses, and in using extended reality and other innovations during the COVID-19 pandemic.
