Use of Invasive Assessments of Coronary Physiology and Structure: A Position Statement of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions

Position Statement

Adjunctive intracoronary diagnostic techniques are deployed to supplement coronary angiography, the traditional method for determining the severity of coronary stenoses. This focused update aims to incorporate the latest clinical evidence regarding these procedures since the 2013 SCAI Expert consensus Statement on the Use of Fractional Flow Reserve, Intravascular Ultrasound, and Optical Coherence Tomography. The scope of this update includes the diagnostic potential of these modalities in specific lesion subsets and clinical circumstances.
