Daniel M. Kolansky, MD, MSCAI | SCAI

Daniel M. Kolansky, MD, is an interventional cardiologist and professor of medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, director of the cardiac intensive care unit, and associate chief for clinical affairs for the cardiovascular division at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. 

He graduated from Stanford University and Yale School of Medicine. He completed his internship, residency, and fellowship in cardiology and interventional cardiology at Yale-New Haven Hospital.  

He has served on multiple committees for SCAI, including serving as track director for the annual Scientific Sessions and serving a three-year term as co-chair and then chair of the annual Scientific Sessions (2019 – 2021). He recently completed a three-year term as a member of the SCAI Board of Directors, contributing to the ongoing success of the Society. 

Dr. Kolansky has also served as co-author on a number of important SCAI clinical statements and guidelines, including manuscripts on Best Practices in the Cath lab, Quality Assessment Core Curriculum for Fellows, Same Day Discharge after PCI, and others. He has presented at numerous SCAI scientific sessions on various topics, including Appropriate Use Criteria, Left Main interventions, Maintenance of Certification, Public Reporting, and others. In 2018, he was recognized for his clinical excellence with selection to the Academy of Master Clinicians at the University of Pennsylvania. He continues to be an active interventionalist and enjoys training the next generation of interventional cardiologists.
